Holiday Highlands Park Rendering Holiday Highlands Park Plan
Holiday Highlands Park is a 2 acre neighborhood park within the City of Martinez located on a former fig tree farm bordered by a natural stream. Existing site amenities include a large play area, large turf field, picnic areas, benches and native riparian vegetation. Our park improvements include a redesign of the play and picnic areas for ADA accessibility, the addition of an on-street ADA parking stall, accessible restroom with drinking fountain, two bridges for pedestrian and maintenance access, upgraded irrigation system to conform to the CA Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance, new LED pathway lighting, and park monument signage. The redesigned play area includes a completely rubberized play surface flush with the surrounding picnic and seating area to increase safety and reduce maintenance. Drainage for the rubberized play surface area utilized the existing drainage inlets with a pervious concrete base, eliminating the need for an expanded drainage system. Construction estimate for the park: $863,132. Park improvements were complete in 2012.
